Data entry

The TCC works with a range of types of data entry including:

  • data entry by investigators or their staff using electronic case report forms.

  • double data entry from paper case report forms by data enterers.

  • scannable machine-readable case report forms.

  • and direct data capture from clinical apparatus.

If you choose to use electronic case report forms and data capture, study staff can enter data directly into the database. They can do this at any time of day or night via a secure Internet connection. This approach ensures that the data are entered into the secure database as soon as they are collected. In addition, you and other authorized persons always have a clear picture of how the data collection is progressing.

If you choose to use paper case report forms, the TCC can arrange double data entry by trained and well-instructed staff. Specially designed paper case report forms enable data to be recorded on paper in such a way that it can be scanned and directly transferred into a database. We have extensive experience in reading this type of data and transferring it into study databases.
